« on: March 28, 2007, 05:48:00 PM »
Got this bow from Lewis and like it alot. Really a nice shooting bow. It was his first one he made I beleive. 56#@29"-56". Shoots great and very quiet and smooth. Shot it through the chrono with my gold tips 5575 30.5" 195 and 194-194-194. No silencers on the string and like I said it was quiet. Woods look great and all in all a really nice looking bow.  Lewis my brother I am very impressed! Ya done a great job   :notworthy:   .Thanks<><

Thanks guys it is really a nice bow. I do have to get a side mount quiver for her. I need a little heft. I shoot longbows better with a quiver on them. And leather grip will also be added. And once I get caught up on limb bolts I will have to add them also.<><

That's the recurve riser with the longbow limbs ain't it.
Did a fine job on that bow !
It looks like it ought to "snap'em" out there !

Yes you are right flintlock

Its Madagascar rosewood riser and bocote limbs bentpole.

I am very glad you like it Frank. You got alot better speeds than I did with my little old 26" draw! LOL

Is that based on Gene's design? Looks like his viper riser and his longbow limbs.

JC, yes it is. Gene has been putting me thru the school of bow building.

This one is a slimmer viper recuve riser with his TD longbow limbs. When you put the limbs on this riser you lose 20 pounds but you gain the hybrid design. so we made heavy limbs and put them on the riser and wallah....

I made two other ones with a full viper riser that is thicker than this one for myself. Gene has taught me ALOT but there is still so much I am cluless about cause it just takes years of tinkering to be at Genes level. Its alot of fun but then again its alot of work too! LOL

Here is a link to the thread with pics of the other two I built.

I am almost done with a new set of limbs for the osage riser. They will have osage venneers. I just put them on the riser for the first time today and man all osage looks sweet!
