This is the same ranch we hunted this past may. Its 25 miles south of Odessa, Texas. Its sandy, scrubby, flat, no trees except mesquite and cactus, a typical west texas ranch that is as big as the eye can see. Its real big. Its ugly to most, except to the bowhunter and the thousands of critters that call it home. If you rent a car or drive in, 4x4 is very useful. The place has an area for tent camping but Curtis also had a metal barn to sleep in and was putting in a cooke shack. This is not 5 star living according to most but its perfect for what we do. Camp was very friendly and everyone including Curtis amd Mark Horne made us feel right at home. When we first got there, we started corning the roads and hunting off of the water holes in brush blinds. However once you see that the pigs are hitting corn along a pot on the road, they should come back to that same spot the next night. Set up a brush blind there 15 yards off the road. Most of the pig hunting on our trip was in the evening so we scouted around and made new brush blinds for the coming hunt, shot lizards, bugs, (at) birds and stumped during the day, typical deer camp sillyness. It was great. Curtis will go over all of his strategies. You will learn alot from the Curtis and about hunting and whispering to pigs. I've shot a decent number of them with my curve and I sure learned alot. Wish I was going out there with you but I'll be there a few weeks later in Feb.
