hello to all,iam shooting 47 lb recurve with and eastern arrow 29 inches long,how would this be for elk and etc,thanks jim

Need a lot more information. What is the length the arrow is being drawn to? What are the #s on the side of the Easton shaft? What grain and style of broadhead are you using? What kind of bow is it?

Jim,

People have killed elk with bows such as yours, without a doubt.  I'm sure the American indians did it with even less efficient equipment.  But, with that kind of setup, shots must be kept close and broadside.  Do I recommend using that light a bow?  No.  Personally, I think anything less than 60 is too light for elk.
