Jason
Could you please provide me with the coordinates for those elk...  :goldtooth:

Great pictures, and appreciate you taking the time to share them with us, and taking time with your family, that is definatly time well spent.

That last buck is a monster!!!  I would love to put a stalk on him!

Take care and good luck this season.

Well once I start I have a hard time stoppin'! Scouting that is.... It was such a nice evening I thought we had better drive across the river and check out my wifes deer spot. It was another awesome Shining Mountain evening....

We saw a BUNCH of bucks1 The antler growth is very good this year...

Most of the deer we saw were a long way off so we are short on pic's, but that only means I'll have to try and get out for more...

I'm going to have to second the thought, "antler growth is very good this year".  Its phenomenal!   Length and is crazy already, bucks and bulls.  Going to be fun to see those racks weaving throught the trees in a few weeks!

What an awesome morning!  It has been a good season so far.  I have seen some great bucks and bulls, but haven't been able to close the deal......until this morning.

First, I would like to say that I am an Elkaholic. I have a problem, but I like it!  I left the house this a.m. looking for a couple of big Mulie bucks that I knew where hittting a small pond.  Some how I ended up on high point looking over some Elk country and sending off a locator bugle.
30 min. later I was 20 yards from this bull.  He was with another bull that I never saw, just heard him bugle. This was the first calling I had heard so far this season.  The bugled at me alot!
I shot him with a Cascade Golden Hawk Mag, lodgepole arrows and MA-3 broadheads.

Thanks guy's. O&U he was in an OTC, actually a very heavily hunted area.  I grew up hunting the unit though so I know it pretty well and that helps a bunch.

I alomost forgot, my "secret" weapon.  I didn't like the sound chamber on the grunt tube I bought.  So I cut it off and played around with some other "parts".  ended up with a Starbucks "venti" coffee cup on the end of the tube!  Who knew Elk were attracted to coffee!  :coffee:
