glass coming apart at the handle

i am having problems now and then with the glass poping lose at the bend of the handle,,i sand,sometimes rough up with a saw blade, clean with acetone,and clean my hands with acetone when handeling the pieces,gluing with smooth on,thanks for any input,,jeff
