Red deer hunt. what a hoot
« on: July 25, 2009, 10:36:00 PM »
funny looking red deer jeff. ( i said to myself )
well it all happend on saturday ( my saturday) i had arranged to go  Deer hunting on a mates possie. about 20 minutes drive away in a place called Kumu (vineyard and farm land) any way i get there and hook up with derek we both hopped out of our cars and strung our bows and put on our quivers. derek says to me i got a good feeling about today ( he always jokes) jeff. i just said yeah right bro. and we headed off we got to the bush line and saw plenty of deer sign. so i said how do ya want to play this out. and derek said you go along the bush line to the top and stay there and i will push the deer to you. so off he went i got in to position behind a clump of gorse and sat there. about an hour went past. nothing then i hear this noise comming from the bush so i get ready then out pops derek. i said you bloody **** i could have put an arrow through ya he just laughted and said you shoot better than that. then we walked over this hill and saw heaps of turkeys.     and after a real long stalk i shot these two     one shot was so funny as i took the head clean off with my broadhead.  (talk about a headless chicken) this thing ran around for a long time with me after it untill i jumped on it. the second one just died with laughter. any how we did not see anymore deer so we just packed up and went home. but i am going hunting on monday ( for you guys thats tomorrow) after fallow deer at another spot and hopfuly will have better luck. jeff

well iam back!  but i had a crap of a day. but i did get me a deer. it started like this i arrived at my hunting spot at 8.30 this morning i get out of the car put my quiver on string my bow put my pack on and lock the car did i say lock the car! ( keys inside the car) bloody hell i locked the keys inside the car.@@#$%%^. oh well i will sort that out when i get back. now what else can go wrong. set off for hunt. came over this little hill and saw this.   and this and i thought hell i am going to need a chain saw  to get through there.opps to big and sorry i dont know how to change the size. any how back to the story   hang on put the camra away in my pack then i come to this little creek and there aint now where to cross but this little log so i start to cross and i just happen to slip off the log and into the water wow!! is it cold man cold enough to freeze the nuts of  a brass monkey. i get out of the water take everything off oh yeah boy everything within a mile ran for the hills. anyway guess what no pics cause the camara is @%%&%%$$# now thats number two. get dress again after getting all the water out of my clothes and carry on hunting i am sure the deer had a laugh. but it was my turn. i saw 3 deer eating grass or what ever they eat when   trying not to laugh. any how i snuck up on them critters and picked one out and stuck em good and of corse all hell broke lose and they took off at a fast rate. but lucky for me it only went 30 yards. dressed it out and took it back to the car. now the fun part trying to get the bloody car open with out keys. well i found a bit of number 8 wire and poked it down the side of the door and popped the lock. thank God for number 8 wire opened up the back of the car and put everything in and well the rest is history man.LOL!!!! well it is 10.34 at night and iam real tired so good night everyone.
