PM "tippit"....he has one, could probably steer you towards breeders on the East Coast

I always hit where I'm aiming, but rarely where I'm looking.

I got my wirehair from John Jeanneney at  www.born-to-track.com  .I've had so much fun with mine, I look forward to tracking as much as hunting now, good luck.

Chad, I bred my Daschund Tilly to the Jeanneney's stud dog Billy on July 7th & 10th.  She is a wire haired but without the wire hairs.  They carry a recessive gene for smooth coats too.  Tilly has a smooth dense coat that for me is perfect as she never picks up any burrs.  I will ultra sound her by next week to see if she is pregnant.  Her litter would be due when I'm elk hunting with Doug & Pinecone so my clinic doctors are all on Call  :)

You can look up the breeding on the Born to Track site.  I'll also be at the Tracking Dog Seminar in Laconia, NH by the Jeanneneys on Aug 8-9.  You are welcome to come up for it and even stay at my house.  Doc

John Jeanneney is who you need to get one from.  If not from him, he will point you to another breeder that is good.  I had one named Snuffer.  He was worth his weight in gold.  That little dog could find anything.  I felt bad during deer season, because everytime I put my camo on, he thought it was time to track.  But when he did track he was good. Unfortunately, He slipped outside because of an unclosed door and was struck by a car.  Broke my heart.  He was a great pal.

Dang i want one to,, i used to have one.. I found him while out chucker hunting.. He was just a sack of rattally old bones, He didn't have any hair on his ears nose or around his eyes from the fleas. Man he was bout as ugly as a dog could get,,Even in the condition he was in he was still very fiesty .. I coaxed him in with little bits of a Turkey sandwhich, when he got close he bolted right by the little piece and snagged the whole sandwhich out'a my hand, He bout ate the whole thing in one bite..We buddied up pretty quick,, But he did not like the guy i was with and snapped at him a few times and also bit the vet when i took him in to get checked out.. So i called him Snappy,, I could sic him on anybody and he would get right after em. Bout a year later he was backed over in my driveway,, But he died fat full and loved.. Ihad no idea they were tracking dogs,, Looks like Idaho is going to allow one leashed tracking dog for big game starting in 2110 so thats all the excuse i need to get another one..Does anybody have anymore info about these dogs?? I would sure like to read up on em..
Sorry bout the long post that has nothing to do with trad bowhunting but i just couldn't help it when i started to think about the ol Snapper..
Thanks for the link tippit i am gonn'a check it out..
