I acquired this bow and it came in the mail today. This bow is dang near new. Doesn't look like it has been shot hardly at all!! 2nd go around at 15 yards produced this group. Can you say, "Bear Essentials!"
This bow will not be leaving my arsenal! :D

Very cool '97 Bear TD. That's the only year it was offered like that.

Thanks guys. I got a great deal on it and was very surprised at how well it shoots. I was a little skeptical about the limb attachment design but, soon realized that I had nothing to worry about. The latch system holds those limbs snug as a bug in a rug. This bow has not one scratch on it and the rest looks like it only had a couple of arrows shot from it. The amazing thing is, it fits my hand like it was made for it. This is by far the smoothest shooting production bow I've ever shot!

Ron, she's a 1997 50# @ 28" and I pull 'er at 29". Very smooth pulling bow to say the least.
If ya'll have never shot one of these bows, you're in for a treat if you get the chance!

I picked up a newer model Super Kodiak a couple weeks ago in almost perfect condition. The only mark on it was on the rug rest where the feathers wore a grove. It is also 50#@28 and I can't believe how well it shoots. It will probably become my whitetail bow this year.

TW, Here's the picture you asked for. Came with the quiver and a soft bow case for $165. I thought I did good.

You were worried about the attachment system? Ol' Fred had that figured out a long time ago. Best darned takedown bow ever made in my opinion.

Bear TDs and Super Ks are great bows. Very smooth. When I took my TD out of storage after a layoff of many years (living/working in a big city where I could not shoot) I shot a one inch group at ten yards and it was smooth as butter. They are very smooth and shooter friendly bows.
Congrats on getting a classic that you can hand down to the next generation someday.

Careful there Wannebe...Shooting bear recurves is addictive and you won't look at your longbows the same...
I am hunting with my 71 Kodiak Hunter this year....
Great bows and can hang with anybodies bows...
Good luck this year...

Thanks Bill, and I agree with you. This bow is proving to be a real shooter. Good luck with your Kodiak. I am looking at a '69 Kodiak for a friend of mine who is considering trad hunting.
I was telling Dave(Vermonster13) that I never thought I would see the day where I shot a recurve better than my longbows! I think that day has come! :D
