Reading material

I am getting ready to head on vacation, and I was wondering if you had any suggestion on some good reading materials for traditional archery. I am looking for things that might be at my local library, so let me know what you suggest and I will see what I can find.
I would love to get my hands on a copy of the Traditional Boywers Bible, but I can't find them at my local libraries.

G'day Chester!
Okay, what's CTO?
Anyway, good books? Where do I begin? I probably would forget to list an important one if I tried to list them. Why don't you browse the book section at 3 Rivers Archery or Kustom King Archery, and then check with your library to see if they can get the titles that catch your eye?
There are heaps of good books available.
I hope you find a good stack of them! And enjoy your holiday!
Cheers,
Ben

"Bowhunting for Deer" by H.R. Dutch Wambold. One of my first serious books and has been re-read so much the binding is coming apart. "The Archers Bible" by Fread Bear is great too.

at the library, do a "fred bear" or "archery" subject search...my guess would be that would be your best bet at a local library level...goods luck...

Any Jay Massey books. "Straight Shooting" by John Schulz. "Early Adventures with Howard Hill". If your library doesn't have a book, they'll order it in for you.

Thanks I will be taking my son tomorrow and seeing what I can find.
To answer the question that was asked: CTO stands for Cross Trails Outfitters (
www.teamcto.org
), a Christian youth hunting and fishing organization that uses hunting and fishing to mentor young men. I have been helping to try and bring a unit to the Houston area for the last few years.

Historical novelist Cromwell has a recent book titled Angicourt. The famous archery battle during the 100 years war. Good read.

Good for you Chester. I like CTO.
If you want a good laugh on your vacation, look for Patrick F. McManus' books. Not about bowhunting, but hunting humor in general. You won't be sorry.

I was already to give a Thumbs Up to McManus but George beat me to it.

Anything by Don Thomas, Camp fire reflections, also good. Doorway Buck is good but if you read much, you'll finish it in a day.
