Thanks to Tom and Paula Phillips
« on: July 31, 2009, 10:09:00 AM »
I get a little bid happy when St. Jude's auction comes around and have been fortunate to have won some great things .
This is a picture of the best Irish Soda bread I have had the pleasure of eating . Paula really did a fantastic job . I was working near home and saw the mailman pull up with a box about 9:30 and had to investigate . Not one but two large loaves were safely sealed and packed waiting for me . Had to try some right away and as I said it is great!I take so long to type when I'm distracted like this .
Have to get back to work , I'll be moving a little slower now , thanks again , Fred

One down and one to go . I think Paula lied when she said it would last 4 - 5 days . I'm not sure it will around to see Sunday .
Whip if she does bring some she better hide it well or I'll get it on the plane . I have no will power . That said Bowdoc I would have a hard time keeping this till next Bearquest , you could always drop over tonight or tomorrow as I think I can save some till then .
I know what I'm bidding on next year for sure , Fred

Fred,
Glad you liked the Soda Bread (In Paula's homeland they call it SPOTTED DICK). Thanks for bidding on it for the "KIDS".
Maybe I can Sweet Talk  "Malady" into making a large batch for BQ4 next June.

Half a loaf left . Bowdoc there will be some still available tomorrow but can't say about Monday so if your planning to come you better get cracking . Tom if Paula agrees to make some for BQ4 I'll foot the bill for the ingredients.
And yes Ed I believe the bidding will increase next year . Never thought I would say it but I love Spotted Dick . Thanks again , Fred
