Right now the corn is getting pretty tall across the road from me.The sweet smell of the tassels is
filling the air right now.I love all of the different smells that each season brings.

I'm going nuts.  I've been scouting.  I've actually spotted deer. and after a frustrating season last year I can not wait for an opportunity to close the deal on my first trad whitetail this year.

Here in central N.C. its hot just like this during the first half of bow season then its starts to cool a little in late Oct. and early Nov. BUT I love it when its HOT because no other fool but me will be out in the deer woods during that time and the deer are still in there late summer feeding paterens which is very easy to find . Its also a great time to get a chance at a good buck in full velvet !

I feel like I'm missing out on something

This'll be my first deer season & at the moment, the confusion is outweighing the excitement!

Don't know where I can hunt, don't know what to look for, don't know how to hang a stand, don't know if I need to hang a stand! Can't figure out the durn seasons (it's open, it's closed, it's a quota/non-quota hunt, youths only etc...) Can't work out where the public land is, or who owns all the dadgum woods or bean & corn  fields that surround me.

I tell ya, I need a 'Dad'!   :biglaugh:
