Changing Nock Point

Can someone tell me how to use nocking pliers. How do you remove then nock with these things? I've never done it before.

The way that I've done it in the past was to use the center post that divides the two different knock sizes.  Put this post in the gap between ends of the knock and carefully squeeze so that it acts like a wedge to pry it open.  Try not to squeeze it straight in as it might damage your serving.  I got tired of messing with metal knocking points, so I tie all my knocking points with artificial sinew or serving thread.  Its easier and looks a little cleaner imo. Justin,line up the point of the jaw with the opening of the knock point & squeeze just enough to wedge it open,being careful not to mash or cut the serving.If you have trouble with it,send me a PM.

About 30" of dental floss makes a nice nock point.

Takes a few more minutes, but is much easier on your shooting glove.

Hey that sounds like a good idea. Is it just personal preference or is there a difference between a brass nock and a string/thread/floss nock?

I've been using waxed linen thread for years to make my nocks. I hate metal nocks on a wood bow. You can get it at hobby stores or wally world in the craft section. It's about 2.50 a roll and you can use it to stitch up leather projects. It don't hurt near as bad if you happen to slap your arm either.
