I have another 66" long, Blacktail Elite VL take down recurve bow coming in a few months and it's going to be around 35# @ 30". I will be setting the brace height at 7 3/4". I shoot aluminum arrows and I will be using 32" long arrows before point is attached. I bought this bow just for fun to shoot some 3D shoots and small game hunting. I've recently decided to try for some javelina next year during the months of February through April with this new bow. I want to use a 2 blade glue on broadhead fitted with a 11/32" Zwickey long broadhead adapter which will bring the point weight to somewhere between 125-130 grains. Now, my first Blacktail Elite take down recurve is 66", 42# @ 30". This bow shoots a variety of different spined arrows if I change the brace height. At present, my 42# bow, with a brace height of 7 3/4" loves a 2213 aluminum arrow with a 150-160 grain point weight. Total arrow weight is around 525-535 grains. This gives me 12.5-12.7 grains per pound. Based on what my 42# Blacktail likes, with a 7 3/4" brace height, I'm thinking a 32", Easton 2212 Eclipse X7 aluminum arrow tipped with 125-130 grain point weight might fit the bill for the 35# recurve. This arrow setup would weigh around 469-474 grains with 13.4-13.5 grains per pound. This is a heavy enough arrow to take a javelina with. The key is I want to shoot a 32" long arrow before the point is attached so my choices are limited since Easton did away with quite a few different aluminum arrow spine sizes. What's your opinion on my 2212 selection?
