Don't know if I put this on here yet, Frassettor was supposed to join me on this, but something came up so it was a solo mission.

She wouldn't dream of touching it. It isn't cooked yet. That is the difference between this Jindo and the Shepherd/Husky mix I had before her. Spirit won't touch raw meat, but Sheba would earnestly offer to guard the deer while I got ready to drive it to the check-in... and take a few chews outa the nether-regions while I was gone.   "[dntthnk]"

Spirit is no help with cleaning up small scraps when you butcher. This cheers up the blue jays immensely, and puts them in a frolicsome mood.

Colorado Elk camp 2009. I am blessed to have spent 18 days throughout the season here.  It is my favorite place on earth....

Great Lakes Longbow Invitational Camp. Got the wedge tent and canopy at a garage sale for $20, the iron cooking grates and hangers, along with a bunch of other stuff for $50. I've since added to this arrangement another tent, a Hunter pyramid tent from PrairieTraditions.

...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

This is not exactly a camp pic but it is what came to mind when I saw the thread. It is my buddy Todd and his Maine moose from '09 and all the guides.....L to R....Todd Gregory (successful hunter)...Eldon Jandreau (owner Hunters Point Guide Service)...Jim Dumond (guide)....and Paul Corliss (guide).

I love the pics.  I could see myself in all of them.  I need to go see the shrink to tell him I'm seeing things now.

Great thread worth keeping up for my soul!

Ron, The Brule River awesome place. Had a few friends working there while I was in college.  They were Trying to figure out the lamprey situation.

My professor and hunter wrote a great song about it and brought it to lecture a few times.

Great memories.
Relax,

Staking out the wings of the vestibule kept the vestibule drier than when they are closed. Moisture coming out of the tent can escape, rather than condensing on the inside of the vestibule. The weight of the snow, combined with the stretching of the material due to dampness, causes the front of the vestibule to sag.

Fair weather:

Plastic toboggans are great for hauling gear and deer, and don't tear up the ground like wheels and air-bobbed feet.
