Territory TradGangers' 2009 Termite Mound Shoot
« on: August 14, 2009, 03:55:00 AM »
Well, it's not too often that I get to meet a real, live fellow TradGanger! Over the weekend just gone by, Clint (Ozy Clint) and his wife called in on their way to live in Gove. We went to have a look for donkeys, and although we found a few, we weren't able to close the deal on them. The termite mound stump shooting was excellent as always. Here are a few photographs of the outing.

Clint lining-up on another behemoth...

...which he duly smote.

Those donkeys didn't see us at all, but they were fired-up and travelling in top gear, the result of a jack attempting to follow the Good Lord's instructions of "Be fruitful and multiply" and the jennies being less inclined to do so.

So, we went back to stump-shooting.

Shortly afterward, we bespied another grazing alone, and we thought we might stand half a chance. Alas, although we didn't move, he spotted us from four-hundred metres away. In this photo, Clint is spying on the blighter.

Later still, we spied a few more camped in a gully next to some unburnt grass, and we again thought we were in with a chance.

Here are two of the six, with the photograph taken through the binoculars.

Alas, they soon cottoned-on to our lurking presence, and departed to play again another day.
