St. Jude's Firefly
« on: August 15, 2009, 09:57:00 AM »
Yesterday, I arrived home from work and to a  white shipping carton from Jim at Firefly Bows.  Jim had already emailed me to say that my St. Jude's bow was on the way and I was anxious to snip through the layers of clear shipping tape that would lead to my new longbow.

I lifted the top of the box and nestled inside was the carefully packed riser and limbs.  I cautiously made my way through the casings of newspaper and bubble wrap until I lifted out the work of art that is the St. Jude's Firefly Longbow.

All I can say is "Wow"!  This bow is not only beautiful, well-balanced, and smooth...but it flat shoots!

Jim was kind enough to go to the extra trouble to buld the bow with a custom grip that perfectly fits my hand and to put together a riser with all the accents of his custom ordered Firefly Bows.  In short, he made every effort to ensure that the St. Jude's Bow was a worthy testament to the purpose for which it was created...a gift given to the benefit of others.

A special thank you go out to Rob Distefano, who orinally conceived of and supported this donation and to Jim for his artistry and generosity.

In humble appreciation...

Claudia

Bow Specs are:  62" and 47# @ 27".  Limbs are flat black and the riser is cocobola Diamondwood.  The inscrption reads "For Pinecone and the St. Jude's Kids".

I've got big plans for this bow   :campfire:  .

That is what most folks say when they get their hands on a Firefly.

Claudia, I really hope you enjoy the new FireFly! I'm sure you'll find they are one of the best bows on the market in my opinion. Jim is a talented bowyer and a great person.

Hope you put some meat on the table with it, and enjoy shooting it.

Yeahhh Stevie, Oct 1 is coming bro!

I'm moving up the list for  my FireFly carbon limbs now.

Steve O...it could happen!  I've tuned up some GT shafts that I won in a previous St. Jude's auction and tipped them with some 260 grain BHs.  They hit like a hammer!
