Back Yard Buck
« on: August 15, 2009, 04:25:00 PM »
I just joined tradgang last week and this is my first topic. I thought I share my backyard buck from last year 10/3/08.

54# Tomohawk longbow
Carbonwood Arrows
Right behind my house.
First day I hunted last year I was only in the tree for 10 minutes when he came down the trail.
I see a lot of deer in my yard (propery backs to a state park) Never seen a bigun like him before back there.

Welcome, David and congratulations on the buck!  It sounds like you have a "deer super store" in your backyard.    :D

Several years ago I knew a fellow who watched a real nice buck cross the highway and cut thru the edge of his yard every morning just after day break. So, he built himself a stand in the back corner of his property, and watched him out of his kitchen window. Every morning, it was the same routine. Opening day, a little before daybreak, he crawled into his stand and a short time later he heard tires squalling and a loud whomp out front of his house...you can guess the rest.
