Bow noise?
« on: August 15, 2009, 11:56:00 PM »
Hey guys,

I have a problem.  I have a 50 inch Rocky Mountain recurve that I just put a new string on.  I have the old original one and the bow is very quite with it. When I put the new string on I started getting a lot of noise.  It is a Dacron string and I set it up exactly like the old one. (same brace height and nock point) The only difference is the old string is 14 strand and the new one is 16 strand.  Has this ever happened to anybody before? What can I do about it.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Rob...

rob, change the brace in small increments,2 or 3 twist at a time, then ajust string nock as needed after you find the sweet spot.i have owned many bows and always keep a back up sting for each bow,i shoot competition about 3 times weekly, and no two strings set up the same, even tho the difference might be very small, regards, robert  :wavey:    :campfire:    :coffee:
'TGMM FAMILY of THE BOW"at 211 degrees water is hot.at 212 it boils and cause's steam, which can run a locomotive.is it worth that one extra ounce of effort to finish first, the difference between good and great?

Is the older string B50, some bows are alot louder with B50. I shot my ACS with B50, it was 3 times louder and had terrible vibration.

Did it start right out load or is the string stretching and the brace height changing.
My new strings stretch and the brace height changes after only a few shots. I have to mess with it alot for the first 6 to 12 practice sesions.
