Congrats on the job!
Works been slow for me this year and the winter looks even slower. You know it's bad when you have plenty of time to hunt but you rather be working.

Dave, glad to hear things have taken a turn for the good!  Also I use to commute 76 miles one way for 3 years, 2 hours and 30 minute on the road just getting to and from work each day.  At first it was lie man I must be crazy but after a while I looked forward to the solitude and time in peace before the stress of the job!  Good time to talk to God and take in his awesome creations.
Everything I have and have become is due to the Lord and his great mercy.

Congrats Dave,
Times are tough and those of us who work for ourselves are feeling it quite hard too.  I hope to read on this site about more of my fellow trad-gangers who share your similar good news, maybe we are finally feeling the bottom of this terrible economic hole.  I hope you and your vehicle don't get any furry new grill work and that you have great success in both the new job and in the woods.

Hey Dave,
All that time commuting ought to count towards being a resident...  :)
You could always move out my way, country living but right between the two cities and north of the Peoples Republik of Lawrence.
Not Unit 19 tho...  :(

Sounds like the Ol'Man upstairs has some special plans for you. After you get your Big Buck this year let us know the date of harvest.

Hi Paul, I'm sure I'll be looking in a casual way at first.  Gotta decide how much I like the job and if I think it's gonna last before I make the jump.  For years after we moved to KC MO, my wife used to always just say we were from Kansas when talking to people.  Not sure if she was just being lazy and dropping the "City" from Kansas City or what but maybe she was having a premonition of something in the future eh?

By the way, is there something special about unit 19?  Lot of you all from Kansas have mentioned it.  Sure seems to be a lot of rural farmland in the little bit I've seen.  Almost odd for an area along a major interstate.  I like it.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Congrats on the job, Dave.  A guy can have money, or he can have time.  It's a rich fella that has both.

Unit 19 is the states target area for decreasing the heavy deer population Dave. Basically borders I-70 from Wyandotte to Shawnee County. Extra tags, extra seasons and extra People Who don't normally hunt. If Your on I-70 between Bonner Springs and Topeka Your in unit 19.
