Glue On Broadheads
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:24:00 AM »
Its prob a stupid question but Ill ask anyway.

How do you pull the adapter out of the Magnus II and woodsman screw in style broadhead? I was gonna add weighted inserts to them.

It states it has removable adapter to be used as a glue on if ya choose but I just cant figure out how to remove em. One came off bc I got it stuck in wood and had to work it out. So it came loose

Any suggestions?

I use a candle to heat up any hot melt type glue. You'll just need something to heat them up till they pull apart.Only heat them enough to seperate them, don't over heat and turn the metal colors or you'll ruin the temper of the broadhead.

The 2 blade Magnus's worked with that technique but the 3 blade Woodsmans wont budge..

Take the head out, hold it with a pliers, then heat the insert and get it good and hot.  Then pull it out with a second set of pliers.  This way you are not heating the broadhead as hot and messing with the temper quite as badly.

It's glued with resin glue. Just use more heat the full length. I use an open flame on the stove. Use pliers to handle the hot BH.

  That's the way to do it. Heating only the adapter will soften the glue and not ruin the temper of the broadhead.

450 degree oven for 45 minutes. They should seperate then.
