Can you feel it?
« on: August 18, 2009, 08:31:00 PM »
There is change in the air, even tho it is still August!

 I'm waking earlier (willingly),nothing escapes my keen eye(almost) my equipment is ready(mostly),my neck swells (    :o     )....

Strike that last statement from the record!

All in all,I'm ready for BOW SEASON!!  Anybody else feel it?  :bigsmyl:    :campfire:    :archer:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Saw a Bachelor group of 5 on the way to work this morning Kenny. A couple of 140's a 120ish and some dinks. Makes waiting that next month and a half tough.

I am having the same problems Ben. I keep wondering if the big ones are still around, and how much bigger have they gotten.

I was within 10 yards of two nice boars Sunday afternoon.  My partener was the designated shooter, and they were on to us anyway!

I feel so blessed to be able to hunt something year round.  My wife doesn't feel so blessed!  I am looking more forward to this deer season than ever though!

I don't know what you folks are talking about ... although I seem to be bugling a bunch and rubbing my head on trees!!!!! JUST CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

I feel it too...

The other morning someone close to me had a wood fire burning.  Yes it is getting close.

The white oak acorn crop looks good this year(every other year producer), black and red oaks appears a little below average producing every year, last year being a bumper crop. So many acorns last year it was impossible to choose a choice location however this year with white oaks producing and dropping in 3 weeks or so I've relocated my stands this week to take advantage. It definitely is in the air.
