Lowa GTX seekers. Lightweight, good for upland and the first part of deer season. Very comfy.

only issues: they seem to make some noise when walking & expensive ($250 +)

I want to find a good pair of moc/boot type that is very quiet in the woods.

Bill: which Muck Boot? They make about 10 different models. I don't care if they are camo.

My Lacrosse finally gave up their sole (or soul?).

I'm using the new Danner GTX boot this year.  Used the Danner Pronghorn last year which was a wonderful experience.

If you want a tough Elk hunting boot; look into the Asolo TP 535. All leather, no GT lining-so they breathe. On a recent Elk hunt in Utah 7 out of 9 guides were wearing these boots!
My teen and I have been wearing these for years.

I bought a pair of Muck Boots before the last bow season. Paid $80.00 or so at the Muck Boot Outlet on line. Was hesitant to pay more because I had never been able to find a pair to try on. This was not the top of the line but was camo and offered great fit and support. I must say it is the most comfortable rubber boot I have ever worn. Would highly recommend. I understand that the Muck "Woody Max" is there top of the line hunting boot. Check them out. Muck makes an excellent product.

I have had Rocky, Danner, Chippewa, Asolo and Meindl. So far Meindl has been the most comfortable, with the Asolo a close second. Meindl just seems like a better fit for my foot. The Danner heel counter did not fit my foot shape very well. I thought they were well broke in  but on my last trip mountain hunting I developed blisters on my heels after the first long day.  I will probably buy some all rubber type boots for whitetail hunting next.

Hanwag's, hands down best boots I have owned.
I usually wear the lightest footwear possible for general deer hunting. Elk, sheep or anything rough I turn to the Hanwag's. Expensive and a challenge to find. I have had them on for 2 1/2 days (60+ hours) straight with no problems.

I wasn't going to post as there are so many different makers and a lot of them are top quality. But, I am wearing a pair of Kennetreks and they are some great boots. Here in Oregon where it rains most of the winter, and snows in the higher ups, I needed a pair that could handle anything. Well, these boots can do it. Check out their website.

White's lace-to-toe Smoke Jumpers and original Smoke Jumpers are all I wear for hunting and working.  They are a heavy duty boot that will serve you for many many hunting seasons.

Muck boots here also. Woodymax for when it's cold. Like walking in my bedroom slippers.

Russels on elk hunts, early season deer hunting and bird hunting. Best I've worn. Schnee's when the weather turns cold. The pair of Schnees I have are over twelve years old. I just bought a pair of the new Russell Thula Thula PH Moccassins to try on next weeks elk hunt.

Nuthin but Russels for me.  At last count I own 6 different pairs.  Currently have 2 pair off for resoling.  These are a pair of Imperials.

Pricey, but my tootsies are worth it.

I have two favorites - Redwing Wingshooters and Browning Scentlok - both leather, both almost waterproof, both comfy and both have been with me for along time. The Redwing boots are made in Minnesota and are the best "well made" boot for the money, in my opinion.

It's the Woody Max Muck boot that's the bee's knees for cold weather.
