Oh, incidentally, that morning with my son?  When a bull came in an hour earlier to my bugling, Walker, seeing me immobile, jumped up pointing and barked, "Elk!"  The memory still makes me smile...

I'm not really a bowhunter in the strictest sense of the word and I don't have a handle but here is the latest kill pic I have:

You are a bowhunter cause you have a real bowhunters haircut.

Ferret would agree.

The one & only NDT hanging out with his best friends.  If you can't guess, I'm an amateur gundog trainer.

This picture was taken last Spring.  The little black Hell Hound is Sunny (Gabbriella's Dakota Sunrise) and the gorgeous yellow bulldozer is Josie (Jacie's Dakota Gold). Both are ND bred & born.

Sunny is now 14 months old/60lbs of non-stop drive and right on track to be ready for her first season this Fall.  Josie just turned 4 years old and with 600 retrieves in her first three seasons, is the epitome of a veteran gundog.

I think of Josie as my linebacker and Sunny as my wide receiver.  These two promise to be a real Thunder & Lightning team!

To stay in Trad Mode, here are the three of us stumping a couple months ago.  I trained both labs to retrieve my arrows, both are marking the target and waiting to see who gets sent on the retrieve...

Kip,
PM sent, email when you get a chance.  I would be happy to help out.

DesertDude, my son is career Army and has done a tour in Afghanistan.  He is headed for Ft Hood and the 3rd ACR at the end of April.  He'll be deploying to somewhere in Tango-Land again in 08'.

With any kind of luck, I'll hook up with him down in Texas for a little Hog Boogie before he goes overseas again.

Thanks your son for me for his service to us all...

Okay here are a few:

First one is a self shot while moose hunting last fall just before dark.

This one is from a bear hunt scouting trip last spring. Same area as the moose hunt:
