Wish I had an elk tag!
« on: August 27, 2009, 08:50:00 PM »
I had Herb Meland make me an all bocote Pronghorn takedown with two sets of limbs, 56# @ 28 and 50# @ 28.  I haven't messed with the 50#s much yet, but I made up some 65-70 spined tapered Surewoods, 29 inch BOP for the 56#s.  I have shot both 160 and 190 field points and was torn between the two.  Tonight I shot broadheads, 160 Snuffer, 175 Ace Super Express and a 190 Grizzly El Grande.  All were acceptable, but the (602 grains) El Grande was amazing!  All I have is Michigan whitetail tags this year.  Sure wish I had an elk tag with this setup!

Old Shortstop...you should have come up to shoot last weekend!  That Pronghorn sounds like a sweetheart   ;)

Steve O,

I was in northern Michigan catching pike, but I didn't know you had a shoot.  When is the September shoot?

We had the 6th annual Joe Vincent Memorial last weekend.  It turned out great!

Next and final shoot of 2009 is September 20.   www.landolakesbowmen.com
