my bow is a striker stinger select 3pc.takedown 58'' and 58 @ 28'' but i only draw 25 1/2- 26'' so it pulls around 50 lbs at my draw

i chose beman mfx classics 400's cut to 30'' with a 100 grain muzzy brass insert and 125 grain point along with 3 4'' feathers

my total finished arrow is around 548 grains and i want to use the broadhead adapter rings

i was hoping to hit the 600 grain mark but these seem to be flying decent.lancaster archery supply gave me the help i needed

im hoping my set up is close to being as good as it can be, it looked like they were flying well.we didnt go thru bareshaft tuning or anything like that

a 175 grain point would make 600 grains but i'll have to expierement w/ that later

i got alot to learn but that will come in time i hope

I'm waiting on my Striker Stinger one piece. Rick sure does make some fine bows. I was at his shop about a month ago and shot several different models he offers and all I can Say is.. Wow. I want one of everything        and as far as good people.... You won't find to many better than Rick.

HEY SCOTT WHERE ARE THE PICS!!!       Congrats man I remember talking to you earlier this year about the Strikers.  I'm pretty similar to you in draw and weight.  I'm pulling 53# @25"  I'm shooting CX 150's cut to 27.5 with a 100 grain insert and 125 grain BH's which gives me a finished arrow of 566 grains.  Your set up has plenty of weight for deer.  Seriously, we need some pics!  Good luck this fall Joe

548 grains is a very ample arrow....stick with what is working now.  My arrows are 480 grains and they usually pass through deer so quickly that you need to pay attention to where they hit.

im also going to try 6 arrows cut at 29 inches at the .500 spine to see if they may fly better than the 30 inch .400 spine arrows i have now. it seems everybody is preferring the weaker spine(.500 spine)overall compared to the .400

Scott, great to see you received your bow. Maybe jumping the point weight up on the 400's will help you out. Then you will acheive your 600 grns. and weaken the spine.

i tried the .500 spine arrows today cut a inch less than my 30'' .400 arrows and wow what a difference!!!!

they flew a little faster but did they ever group tighter and seem to hit where i aimed more often.im a rookie but i believe these are more forgiving cause they must mate to the bow better

the .400 spine may shoot just as good if i load up w/ more point weight but i'll have to try that later

the .400 spine arrows were weighing around 548 grains so the .500 arrows i think are around 30 grains lighter which would put them around 515-520 grains.i was hoping to hunt w/ an arrow around 600-650 grains but i guess this 515 grain arrow will be okay.they seem like they were penetrating just as deep as the 30 grain heavier arrow and i think that was from the arrow matching the bow better which in turn was giving better arrow flight which they say is the most contributing factor to arrow penetration

If they are tuning better, I would expect better penetration.I know alot of guys harvesting a ton of animals with 500 grn. arrow with no problems. Ed
