Do you guys gave any experiance with the shaft compressor that 3 Rivers sells? It is said to reduce spine... Any idea how much or why? And would it work with hardwood shafts?
Thanks guys!

I have one that i tryed to run a couple shafts of oak through and didnt work out very well. I then figured out with some poplar shafts that I was not getting the block hot enuff. When the heat was right the poplar spun through pretty easy. Have not tryed any thing else yet, and the decrease in spine was about 5 lbs.

Works well with POC, very poorly with
Douglas fir, okay with poplar.
I've lost up to 10# spine with this tool.
I do like it because it makes a marginal
shaft ROUND. Note that this tool does not
yield a true "compressed" shaft, i.e.,
'forgewoods'; it is more a burnisher.
