scouting / slash hunting trip
« on: September 09, 2009, 05:29:00 PM »
Chris and I went to a WMA last week the we seldom go too. thought I would share a few pics.  A funky looking Tupelo tree

A lost gopher

We split up to circle an island and were going to meet a lizrd point..another story. This is chris walking down the old river bed. It has cut through and changed course and this area looks kinda like a cow pasture in places.

I found a funnel around a dead lake. It had rained the night before so this is gonna be a good spot.

I also found some of these. My favorite early season critter food..

We met up and killed a twenty yard can..

Always have to take a pic of the river everytime I go there...

Picked up a shed near a swamp chestnut the squirrels are already cutting...

Caught  this nosey fella watching me..

We managed to get on some pigs...lots of`m. Chris had his video camera and was gonna film me shooting one. I got to within 15 yards of a couple smaller pigs that I would have normally dropped the string on but there was a fine sow and guilt coming. I let the small ones go and got busted. The sow could see like a hawk. Not really but she saw me anyway. No meat but some good spots found.RC

Great pics. Makes me miss coastal Georgia, well, except for the bugs.

Go get 'em, Robert and Chris.  You two make a good team, bet some porkers and deer will be hanging from the meat pole this fall.
