Great pics, I had a similar experience this year. The elk seem to be at high elevation in some of the areas. I saw a lot of fresh sign and located some as well, up high.

Very nice looking country!
I didn't get anything on my bear trip and they were disappointed when I wasn’t seeing any.  I kept telling them as I got to the truck I would be working at that very moment if I wasn’t where I was then.  It’s all part of it…new country, new people and new experiences.

Looks like you were having fun and that is more than half the battle!

Thanks for all the reply's. We had one heck of a time. The hunts were thrilling. We got into numerous elk stalking scernarious. I will never forget the sight of a 5x5 working like a ghost in the timber passing me by at 50 yards. Our watching a big bulk sulk across the patchy aspen flats. The hunts were exhausting for a couple of flatlanders from Iowa. The thrill of adventure, taste of defeat, and a little bit of fear made for memories that will be with me until I return.
