JC, I'd like to say that the spider web effect is the result of long hours with a tiny paintbrush, but it's actually a Krylon craft product called
Webbing Spray . You should be able to get it at most craft stores. It's available in white, black, silver, and gold. Fun stuff to work with. I put it on the shaft and then let it dry for a few days to get nice and hard. Then I use 220 sandpaper to knock it down a little so the gasket lacquer has a chance of covering it smooth.
The airbrush paints are nothing fancy, just basic Creatix paints. Those arrows look fancy but they really don't take a lot of skill. The cap is airbrushed so the bottom end kind of fades out. The red arrows have two colors airbrushed on, yellow first and then orange. Both sets of arrows have the shafts stained with analine dyes. The owner of the red arrows says his little daughter calls them the sunshine arrows. I can live with that.
