i asked him to bring it to the next shoot w/ him.
ive tried to find a pic of this bow, and all i come up w/ is the latch type.
he told me its a bear t/d but it has the limb bolts???

Gaff- there are a couple of things this could be. The Minuteman and the 76'er had slip in sockets but no set screw. In the eighties Bear marketed a bow that used bolt on limbs called the Hunter Takedown or Takedown Hunter that used quality laminated limbs and actually wasn't a bad shooter; not particularly outstanding in any way but a good economical alternative to the Kodiak T/D. I'll look around for a pic but you can probably do a search here for a Bear Hunter Takedown and find a few. Grant

Can't be certain what your fried has but Bear did make a TD bow called the "Hunter" which had limb bolts. I had one and it was a nice shooter. Good Luck!

I think I have seen two of the bows that you are asking about at a local shop. If my memory serves me right, they were the newer takedown hunter II's. I believe you can see a picture of one in the 3r catalog....
Hope it helps.

I have a Bear Takedown Hunter which I bought here from Arwin which has the limb bolts. IT IS 60" #55, around 62-63 at my draw (32). Good hard shooter, doesn't stack to my draw. I think its a great bow for my money

There's another one, too, like that with a metal riser. Can't remember what it's called offhand.
