I just though I would share a pic of my 2009 mule deer.I shot him on the morning of September 9th.I had a couple of real close incounters previously with other deer before getting this fellow. He was bedded in a oat field and I had to make a 75 yard stock to get into bow range.A good strong wind is a real help when hunting in open country and that morning it was.I got about 20 yards from him then got ready for the shot,I had to throw a stone to the other side of him to make him stand and to draw his attention away from me.When he stood up I drew and released.I made a good shot and he ran only 60 yards before going down. For this hunt I used homemade bow I just built, its 58" and draws 53#@ 28".I also used sitka spruce shafts with 160g stos broadheads.I hope you all enjoy the story and pic.Bye for now ,Dell.

Great buck and good tip on the rock thing. That would have worked well about 2 weeks ago.

Well that was the first time I tried using a rock to get a mulie out or his bed,but a good friend who has hunted them alot suggested it to me one time while discussing tactics for hunting them.Oh buy the way that wound is the entrance hole,I did not get a pass thru on him. Thanks for the congrats guys.
