I've used the kids plastic sled, a toboggan and a deer cart, all help, none of them are as handy as getting the truck close.
When it comes to corn fields... "Drag them across the rows, not with the rows, it's 10 times easier"
When dragging them on anything, I tie their feet over their head and put a half hitch around the nose to point it forward. Then make sure the rope is short enough to get the front shoulders off of the ground a bit.
