vermonster13, I've heard the turkey huntings pretty good out your way. I can't wait to hear your stories.

Birddogdoc, can you tell me when the two week archery season in KS is? All I can find is 06 info. I plan to go back to NW Kansas this spring.

Hi Mike, the KS archery only season is the 1st two weeks of april!  I think they're trying to keep up with Nebraska! NE has a Mid-March Archery only season which is really great!  The Pine Ridge has lots of public access. I think the birds are much more active in early April! Last year we saw hunderds of birds still in their winter flocks.  I can't wait until April!  I enjoy reading your articles in TBM. Keep up the good writing!  Shawn

Looking forward to trying my Eastman LX-5 on the birds this spring in Michigan. By the way, turkey "fries" are great skinned, dipped in cold milk, breaded with Drake's breading mix and fried in hot grease. Eat just one then gobble the rest!

I've finally got a decent spot here in California, and I can't wait!

Took the plunge. I bought a few calls and a hen decoy. The box call seems fairly simple but this diaphram call is another story!

After I almost threw up with it stuck to the top of my mouth I finally found the right spot for it. It was comical! It was stuck to the top of my mouth and I was dry heaving while simultainiously running for the restroom and prying it loose.

It's getting better now though. I just need to learn the "language". When and when not to call, what tp "say" etc...

I'm really excited about it!
