Favorite Deer Hunting boot.

Looking for some opinions on what would be a good early season Deer hunting boot for stalking, tree stands or ground blind. I have my Mickeys for when it gets cold.
I also should ask where to find the boots of you recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

I wear Lacrosse Burlys most of the time, but if I'm gonna be sneaking around and trying to be quiet, then it is Beans hunting shoes.

Muck boot, they have different models for different temp ranges. Simple and very nice. Thanks Jerry.

L.L. Bean Maine Hunting Shoe, the 12" high ones. I wear them without the inner soles and I can really feel what I am stepping on so I stay quiet.
Rubber bottoms, leather tops, good price, and when you wear them out LL Bean will fix them by installing new rubber bottoms. Not bad. My present pair has been repaired twice and were new 30 years ago.
But, they are not very warm. You will have to depend on socks for warmth.

Anybody use the 16"? I'm thinking about getting them instead of the 12".

I hunt with Sorrell's.. (like a Maine hunting boot) but heavier with pacs...
I would suggest any rubber bottom type boot. You can "feel" under foot and will not leave much scent...

I'd second the Bean and Muck boots. The Muck boots will be quite warm, maybe too warm for early season.
Rookie: unless you're hunting where you frequently will get your feet wet, there's not much advantage to the 16 inchers. They do provide a little more leg support and protect from abrasion higher on the legs. I use mine for grouse and woodcock hunting in wet, tag alder areas. I use 10-inchers for early season bow hunting.

I've heard many guys like LL Bean boots. I just got a pair of LaCrosse Viper rubber boots. Cannot tell you how much I love them. Spent 10 hours over a couple of days in them as the temp went from 79-50 without any discomfort! PLUS they are being blown out at Cabela for 49.99 right now. I don't really need the snake protection in CT, but its pretty cool to know I'm protected.
For stalking I use an old pair of Asolo boots I used for hiking (those boots ascend Mt Washington!) They work just fine and are over 10 years old!
Good hunting everyone!

I like the 14" Maine Hunting shoe with orthotic insoles and LaCrosse Burlys (uninsulated) for early season. Also, the Rocky stalker is quite comfortable, but not as scent free as a rubber boot.

AND AGAIN, LL BEAN 10 INCH BOOT. VERY COMFORTABLE ALL DAY LONG.USE SNOW PROOF FOR THE LEATHER UPPERS AND MELT IN A BUNCH OF COATS OF IT WITH A HAIR DRYER. FOR ME THEY ARE LIKE WEARING MOCCASINS IN THE WOODS. I CAN FEEL THINGS UNDER MY FEET WITHOUT HAVING TO LOOK DOWN ALL THE TIME.
