Broadhead mounting frustration

Got my Eclipses and started mounting them. I have 7 of 12 that spin real good, nice and straight. The other 5 spin OKAY but not great. The wobble a little about 6 inches up the shaft. The shafts are straight, and when I check alignment with a makeshift roller, they seem fine. But when I spin them, they wobble just the slightest bit. Will this make a big difference? I tweaked the points a little but it didn't help. Flipped em over, took em off, remounted them, still nothin'. HELP.

What are you putting them on, (adapters or wood shafts) and what are you using for adhesive?  If you're using hot melt, re-heating and spinning for alignment is typical, just keep at it till you get it right.

Yes, it will make a difference. What type of shafts are you using(wood,carbon,aluminum). If wood, check your taper. It's easy to get BH misaligned if the taper is off. Try tapering it slightly again. If carbons/alum., then check to see if they are glued on the insert right. Thats usually the case. Also, if used BH's, then check to see if the BH is straight. Just a couple starting points.

If your using wood, make sure it is absolutely straight. Regardless of shaft, try putting a new field point on, and retest by spinning. If it spins, it may be the head. But those a nice heads. Check the nock, it must be aligned as well. Then use your jig to check the shaft, or sight down. I use a hook or round shaft screw driver, to pressure straighten the shaft. Just bending a wood shaft will not last. I can explain what I mean if you want.

Thanks guys. I know what you are talking about Hud. The shaft's appeared straight. I looked at them some more this morning and did tweak my shafts a bit. I heated the problem heads and tweaked those too. Maybe yesterday was a bad day, but now they all seem to be spinning fine. Now I just need to sharpen them. Another adventure in it's own. Be prepared for another possible, Why the hell won't these heads shave hair?, thread.

I used to hand straighten heads, seemed easy sometimes, other times frustrating.  I picked up a Dixon Broadhead Aligner a few years back and couldn't believe how nice it worked.  I had heads like your talking about, couldn't get them to spin for the life of me.....one roll on the aligner.....perfect.
