My first year hunting elk, any tips from those sucessful or unsucessful archers would be great!

First off - have your wife go and buy a 1/2 beef to fill the freezer, then go elk hunting. That is a sure fire way to get an elk!!!!!!!!!!

Go where the elk are. I hunted 8 days this year in great elk country without seeing one elk. You gotta find 'em to kill 'em.

Avoid easy access areas.Pack in a few miles and you will usually avoid most other hunters( at least that is my experience)

What part of Oregon are you looking too hunt.
The coastal range you will find elk close to home and have great oppurtunities without the miles of hiking ot get away.
