Arrows for new selfbow?

I just finished a red oak board bow and need some advise on what spine wood arrows to use. It came out lower than what I wanted ( 42# )but still would like to take a deer this season with it. It is cut probaly 1/4" from center. I will be shooting 125gr. tips.

It will depend on your draw length. If 28" then somewhere around 30-35lbs would be a good starting point.

There are several factors to consider , fast flight or dacron for string? 30-35 would be my pick for dacron but for fast flight I would up that to 35-40#
Most pull 27" with a selfbow or shorter due to the style of handle, I am assuming you have a straight grip with heel down.
If you go to a hardwood shaft up that 5# more due to the mass weight , I would recomend something like spruce or cedar

Yep, as above - 30-35 cedars cut 29" BOP or so. If you have them longer or have high performance string, you may have to jump up to 35-40's. Good Hunting!
