dry fired....info please!

Accidentally dry fired my kohannah flat bow last night. I have a light grip and the bow jumped right out of my hands. All I can think is I must of nudged the nock off the string at full draw before releasing... the bow seems to be ok and I shot a dozen more arrows. Has this happened to anyone else and how concerned should I be? The bow has dacron string 45# at 27".. antler tips..

Done it plenty of times! If there's noting obvious wrong with the bow, no splits or cracks (REAL doubtful) I wouldn't worry about it, just don't make a habit of it  :D

Inspect the tips. string nocks, string  and limbs real well. Nothing seems out of order then you should be fine. Most bows are overbuilt enough to be able to handle an odd dryfire. Just keep an eye and ear on it. if the sound it makes when shooting changes at all, then give it a real good inspection again.

The same thing happened to me yesterday while stump shooting.  It's a jarring experience.  Fortunately my bow was fine too.

I WOULDNT WORRY TOO MUCH... IF THE TIPS ARE FINE THEN I WOULDNT WORRY...

The guys at my bunny hunt will tell ya they have all seen e do it. It is always the morning after the nights activities that gets me!(LOL!) As said above, if you have shot it that many times with no creeking or ill effects you are fine. Shawn
