Well, one bull and one "bull".
My brother, Danny, shot his bull on the 6th. He slipped in near a big herd with a big herd bull. With cows and spikes all around him Danny spotted this satellite bull. He looked him over and decided that if he did not get an elk this season he would be real mad with himself for not taking this opportunity. He made a 40 minute stalk on this bull, and at 20 yards he made a great shot with a Rampart recurve and a Grizzly broadhead. A pass-through double lung shot. Danny's elk did not make it very far and died in mid-stride.
I shot this spike the last day I could elk hunt this season. We are fortunate enough this year to go on a cow moose hunt in Canada which cuts the last 6 days out of the elk season. As I was closing the distance on a heard of elk, with my brother and another hunting partner calling behind me, this spike came in to check things out. I shot him at a heavy quartering away angle. He fell within 200 yards of where I shot him.
My "bull". Like a good friend of mine says "Anybody can hit the big ones!!!"
Love my Mohawk longbow!!!
Me and my brother, the elk whisperer.
