Just saw this thread. I have no doubt that Allen put all 3 in the bull. He is a very good shooter and nice guy to boot. Don

To be judged this way completely ignores the realities of hunting.

To agree with it is our death knell.

I watched a 'modern type bow' shooter practice with groups like that at 80 yards; and when he shot a deer at 60 yards he said: " I put the sight on him and squeezed the trigger - and BOOM! - I got him !".

I don't want that guy or his followers- to judge me and my bowhunting abilities; and as well goals and dreams: with ~their~ ideologies.

this is sad.  if i was going to just walk up and stick arrows in the target and then take a picture and put it on tradgang i would have put the arrows a little closer together!   :)

hehehehe, go get em neighbor!  make sure you fix that weird clicking sound on your bow first though!

A.S. you are my hero fo sho. My brother plays golf and used to have some purple golf shoes. He would say "you gotta be good to wear those shoes".

Hope you bang them together today.

Thanks again guys. I agree about having to be judged on your hunting abilities with a silly test like this, but having the opportunity to hunt this property is WAY worth it for me.

I did, however, qualify with flying colors. I shot my first two arrows in the plate and was done.

JoeVan, I was shooting my Silvertip.

Green Arrow (Kyle....neighbor.....bud), I'm pretty sure that clicking noise will never go away. It seems to work for me!

Ken, this hunt is on Oct 24. The way the rules go for this place is that you must get drawn and go on a doe hunt, then start applying again next time for a buck hunt.

This is my year for the doe hunt. But the beauty of it is all the big bucks that we have the potential of seeing.....The State DNR does a really good job of planting feed for these deer and only letting mature bucks be killed.

Hopefully I get drawn for the buck hunt again next year.

I didn't think traditional shooting was that accurate. I have seen people shoot recurves and long bows and have nice groups at 20 yards but nothing like your shooting. Good luck at your shoot... RAY

A.S. congratulations.  I admire you for putting your proficiency to the test and making it.

I don't have a problem with proficiency test to be able to hunt.  I have an idea it would increase the traditional recovery rate.

No question on the qualifying, Allen. Good luck on the 24th.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
