Thats a terrible sound if you have ever heard it for real, the worst sound in a cub bear bawling.

I've seen video of a guy using one of those old rubber-band fawn bawl calls (good luck finding them) to great success. I've tried and haven't had a similar one work yet.

I've taken quite a few does by using the fawn bawl. Lately though, because of our abnormally high bear population in these parts, all I call in are bears when I use it.
My favorite is the A-way call set on fawn bleat.

You can do it with one of those "fully adjustable" grunt tubes. Slide the o-ring up to the top, then start wailing like a coyote has you by the leg. If there's a doe within earshot, she'll investigate. Some will come in on a run.

I've called in Wt. tails, mulys, coyotes, and bears with it. The rubberband one is from E.L.K calls.

I used "The can" on Sept 5th in Kentucky and shook it so that it sounded fawn-like...I had a doe at 300 yards come trotting in and I killed her at 16 yards. Her milk sack was almost dry, so I am assuming she had lost a fawn recently.
