Shot a little button buck on one of my urban properties Saturday morning.  Passed on some does last night waiting to see the bucks that didn't show.

Had 4 bucks come under me on Sat. morning. 4pt, 2-6pts., and a nice 8 pt. The 8pt will be a good one in a year or two. Thje others will take a little longer. Fun morning and good to be out. Somebody usually strikes at our camp early. So stay tuned.   :campfire:

Not much to tell.  This little guy trotted over and I slammed my upper limb into a tree branch on the shot. Guess that's what happens when you've been hunting with a 58" bow but then switch to hunting with a 64"er. The Griz 190 tipped arrow flopped on out there and hit him way back.  It still buried to the fletch, cut the artery under the spine, and dropped him within 30 yds.

Nothing but the best dragging stick for Jim! Good job fellas! Let's hear some more "close,  but no cigar stories". Sometimes they are bettter than an actual hero story.

I got busted by a button buck while drawing on a squirrel. The squirrel was at a 3 o'clock position coming down a tree at roughtly 20 yards. It then circled counter clock-wise to my 9 o'clock. This took about a minute for him to travel to that point. I decided since he was sooooo closse I would shoot him. When I started to draw I heard a deer blow 20 yards away at the 3 o'clock position the squirrel had originally started from! As I turn to look, I see his white tail waving good bye from the exact spot I had been watching the squirrel one minute earlier.     :knothead:
I think I'll try again tomorrow night.

Well - I had to find something to do with my tomahawk.  :-p

Went to Gander Mountain today and got a deer cart on sale.  That should make things MUCH easier.
