PA Hawg Hauling Crew headed to Ray's
« on: September 28, 2009, 12:59:00 PM »
Thursday morning the Hawg Hauling Crew is pulling out from PA and heading to Ray's Hog Heaven!

We were just there in Feb for some Spring Break hunting and knew we had to go back SOON! We hope to catch the acorn drop for some good spot and stalk.

One thing for sure, we will have a ball!

Hogs be toast!

Arrow k9, thanks for the tip. I'm sure we will be out as much as possible.

Last time we had two days of heavy rain and didn't get to hunt as much as I would have liked. I was wading 8" of water Sunday AM on a trail that was dry on Friday. We are anxious to get after them in more open woods too.

In the swamp, no one can hear you scream!

I think I just threw up a little.

I'm cocked, locked, and ready to rock! Stuff is all packed and the wagon is pointed South.

We're gonna get our first frost tonight Ray. All our skeeters will be DEAD! Want us to bring some cold air down in the coolers for ya?

All of us will be there. One was iffy right up until last Friday. Better make an extra batch of cheese for our new guy, Mike.

I see lots of guys going south to SC for the hogs. WHat kind of luck do the hunter have in getting a shot ? 50% or less, how many do take a hog ? 10% or more ????

Have fun and good luck

Well I don't know about others, but Dave should do well....the only thing he can kill is hogs 8^).....mostly groundhogs.   But he is a super bow shot and it's just a matter of time.  I suspect this trip will produce pork;  real pork!
Good luck guys.

Wow, where do I start? Fantastic weekend! Perfect weather, great food, great friends, lots of laughs, great hunting!

We really had a chance to explore the property this time. We still hunted cypress swamps, palmetto flats, oak woods, pine thickets, and the banks of the Savannah River. What a place!

We all saw hogs (except me), deer, armidillos, lizards, squirrels, and birds. The swamp was alive with all sorts of critters. I even saw my first aligator! I shot an armidillo and could have shot a dozen more. A couple of the guys found some really nice flint heads too. In the evening we relaxed around a big campfire. There is something for everyone at Ray's.

We hunted hard but came home empty handed. A couple arrows were launched but no bacon on this trip. We are already planning our next hunt.

Man, am I beat! It hurts so good!

Dave
