So far I would say Beaver. It's pretty durable and I like the thick luxury of the fur. Have not used a lot of fur to make stuff like quivers and stuff, that's why I say so far.

I have a back quiver made out of a Red Panda pelt/skin, it's pretty unique. I was thinking one out of stinray skin would be kinda cool.

I ran into some Polar Bear fur this winter...a hat and a vest. Very nice.
A little coarse, but I liked it.

Having a European boar hide tanned. Mane hair was over 6 inches long and full of wool undercoat. Will have a quiver made once it is done. Also have a boar hide rug getting finished. But I am CRAZY about boars!!!!

Winter coat of a coyote. Love the variation of colors and it quiets arrows good. But then I just put it around the top or the quiver and on the inside.

Dog hair from China...not. Saw a cool back quiver made from Axis deer, beautiful color. I don't own one yet so would settle for skunk or gopher or any road kill.

Got a roadkilled whitetail fawn. The tanning job came out real nice so I think Im gonna make a quiver for my boys to share.Got a feral cat that looked like a mini clouded leopard but he slipped after tanning unfortunately.Call me a kook but almost any animal I see these days I consider the feasibility of turning it into a quiver.

I have bear hair around the mouth of one quiver and bison around another. Both are great. I would love to have some lion to line another. I think beaver or badger would also look great in a quiver. Made one with rabbit that was ok but not as quiet is I had hoped. Maybe one of them mac-daddy snow shoe rabbits would have thick enough hair to make a good one.

I've made several different fur quivers over the last couple of years. I've used rabbit, red and grey fox, coyote,African blesbok and raccoon.
My first and second favorites though are Arctic fox(snow white) or cross fox which has the most amazing patern to it. Both are very durable and are as soft as a garment mink.

I like bear. I am having a bow rack made from the claws of my last one to go under the head. Claws are cool!
