Wyoming Non Resident Tags

I am looking for some information on non residnet tags and the process to obtain one in Wyoming. I am under the understanding it works off of preference points? This is the first time I have looked into a western elk hunt and am trying to get my bearings if you know what I mean. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks !

You missed the deadline for points by a few days.  

Around January, go to the WY F&G website to get the NR info and applications.  Each species has a different deadline.
