Maine moose
« on: October 05, 2009, 11:42:00 AM »
My friend Todd Gregory went on a moose hunt in Maine last week. He was hunting with Guide, Eldon Jandreau. Todd doesn't post on the internet that I know about so I am putting up his hero pic. He shot the moose on Friday. He was shooting a 60# Hummingbird longbow, CEX arrows with No Mercy heads...total weight in excess of 700 grains. The bull was called in by Eldon who was hiding behind a Montana cow decoy. The bull was pulled away from a cow he was with. Todd got the shot from 5 yards. As the bull turned to leave Eldon cow called and he stopped a mere 15 yards from where he had been shot. In a few short seconds he went down. During the week they saw over 65 moose, the majority of them bulls. This one was past his prime and had very massive rack. They estimate the weight of the beast at 1200 pounds!
