Safety rope question
« on: October 05, 2009, 10:41:00 PM »
Much has changed since I used a climbing tree stand in the safety aspect so the last couple of years I've camped on the ground to hunt.  I do have a ladder stand I'd like to put up but am unsure of what knot or arrangement is good to use to tie my safety line to the tree above my head.  I know about the prussik know and don't have a problem with that but what about attaching the whole thing to the tree?  All the threads I've read seem to gloss over this one.

a loop on the end of the roop with a carabiner on it works well, just loop it around the tree and clip your rope to it...where it is a slip arrangement..    then use the prussik and a carabiner  for your attatchment on the harness...
