Samick Volcano in the house.

Well the arrival of the Volcano happened today. I found the package in the house when I came home from work. The bow is 58", marked 45# and has clear glass over what looks like ash limbs...very pretty. The riser is a combination of gray actionwood and another dark wood and is very eye appealing.
Things I expected:

I expected a factory bow that was functional and not ugly.

I expected to have some glue lines and a not perfect finish.

I expected to have actionwood limbs under the clear glass and I expected to get wood overlays on the tips.

What I got:

Glue lines were better than I expected although not perfect. The finish was light and I will overspray it with Minwax Helmsman clear poly in a day or so.

I got micarta limb tips and what looks like ash limbs.

I also got a strip of what looks like thin red fiberglass running under the belly lams on both limbs.

Tiller was right on with the bottom limb being 1/3" closer to the fade than the top limb.

I put the bow on a bow scale and here is what happened.

27".....44

28".....47

29".....50

I didn't measure past 29" but will when I have someone to help with the scale. The indicator is no stack to 29 and I can verify it is very smooth to my draw of 28".

For $199.95 + 12.00 shipping, I think I got a bargain. It is relatively quiet...just a blip on release... (came with a 16 strand dacron string) and will be very quiet when tuned with a 12 strand dacron.

I'll pass along any anomalies that I find as I shoot the bow on the weekend.
