It's threads like this that remind me it's not so bad to have to work all day. I read the first couple pages yesterday morning and finished up just now. I did cheat though...called Terry yesterday afternoon.   :D

Great job guys, Congratulations!!!

I'm glad I didn't find this thread until now! I could "bearly" wait to find out what happened and I had it all in front of me!

Great job guys and what a memorable hunt.

Congratulations guys…very cool that the two of you could share that moment!

What did the autopsy show as far as the first arrow’s hit?

Gatekeeper....there was no 'official' autopsy.  We had a bear to get out of the wilderness. Not very many pictures either.

My arrow entered the chest left of center, hit vertical, and exited the left side of the spine out the top of the back taking out a lung but went over the heart. The bear was definately in its death bed when Doug spotted it as it had lost a LOT of blood in the 150 yards.  But I'm certainly glad Doug got in on the action.  We had breakfast yesterday and are already planning next years season.

BTW, that head is still starp as the day I got it cept one little spot.

Also broke in my newest Doug Campell knife.
