I bought the Bison Outfitter model last year and used it for whitetail hunting and day hunts for elk. It held all the gear I carry during the early hunts and I was able to strap on my heavy clothing for late season hunts. Mine has the straps, insulated water bottle holder, and binocular pouch options, which I highly recommend. I love the way it rides and adjusts. My one complaint was stabilizing a heavy load when my friend got a 4x4 mule deer (of course it wasn’t designed to carry this load); I had three quarters with the head and antlers tied on and it kept shifting. I got the next size up, the First Trip Explorer, with the expandable compartment a couple of week back. With the next deer or elk I will be able to bone the meat and carry a decent load on the trip to camp, comfortably. I like the outfitter model for its size 98% of the time; I just need the ability to carry a heavier load 2% of the time. My Outfitter pack is in new condition and is for sale.
Vance, I will give you a call this weekend regarding Texas Sweat.
